I are a happy dance-nerd

I saw Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake tonight. Spoiler: IT WAS AWESOME. I am so full of flaily capslocky joy.

It was so beautiful. It lived up to what I expected it to be and yet somehow was also nothing like what I expected. I'm going to need to see it again at some point, but for now I will make do with ordering the DVD.There was just so much detail, and so much going on on stage, that I'm sure there's a million things I didn't get. And so much nuance in the choreography. Ooh, I could wibble about this for quite some time. SOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!

(And I have not even begun to flail about the hotness yet. Humina.)

Instead, minor picspam:

(I was at no point slightly distracted because of [livejournal.com profile] cobweb_diamond 's amazing ballet AU. Nu huh. Did not happen. Total denial.)

ETA: I just googled Richard Winsor, the guy I saw as the Swan. I very nearly broke my brain.

I don't think I'll ever stop squeeing about how AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL it was. And having just found ridiculously hot pics of the guy who played the Swan, I may need to start stalking him. OH MY.

Richard Windsor is a GOD. I have seen him as The Swan (although I don't think anyone could compare to the orginial Adam Cooper). Have you seen any other Matthew Bourne? If you liked Swan Lake, you should check out 'Dorian' - it's an adaptation of The Picture of Dorian Gray. It's AMAZING and SO HOT. I've seen it twice.

'Carman' and Bourne's adaptation of Edward Scissorhands are also awesome.

Man, Matthew Bourne, I could ramble on about him all day. :)

This was my first Matthew Bourne, but I've wanted to see any and all of his work for ages. And even more so now, particularly Dorian. And my brain can't quite cope with the idea of anyone being better, but I'm so getting the DVD to check out Adam Cooper. In fact I think I'll get the boxset with Carman and the Nutcracker.

I know very little about Matthew Bourne, but feel free to ramble if you want. I'll be all chin in hands!
