I seem to have dropped off the interwebs for a few days there. It was odd. I love you, interwebs, I shall never leave you again.

Also odd - as of this weekend, I can add wild boar, springbok, kangaroo and zebra to the list of animals I have eaten. I drew the line at trying baby octopus, which I am aware is an utterly arbitrary point at which to have drawn anything, but there you go. (If you're interested, zebra tastes a bit like venison but sweeter, and, disappointingly, the meat is not stripy.)

Scotland is cold and dark. I should have become accustomed to this by now, but every autumn I am befuddled and confused by this fact.

In happier news, my Serenity cross stitch is moving at light speed now, which is ironic. Will post a pic tomorrow, and it should be finished soon.

Oh oh oh wait please say more about what those animals taste like! Especially springbok and zebra!! I am so curious *_____* possibly I have a freakishly intense fascination with wild game meat.......

And why baby octopus? 8D Bugs before baby octopus???

The springbok was nice but if someone had told me it was beef I would not have noticed that it wasn't. The kangaroo tasted a bit like lamb, but it apparently is much lower in fat and cholesterol. The zebra was really delicious though (I don't think I will ever get used to saying things like that) - I've never eaten horse, but other people were saying it tasted like well smoked horse meat, but richer in flavour.

The baby octopi looked liked tiny alien fetuses and my brain just could not cope! According to those who were not squicked out, they tasted like uber-calamari but were very very chewy.

Wow, that's a lot of animals. I can imagine baby octopus is quite squishy. Blegh. Serious squick for me.

Unf, that pic.
